02Guide
Which mattress
suits you?
There’s no single best mattress for everyone. What counts is how you sleep: your position, your weight and your own preference.
General advice, not medical advice. If you have back or health problems, ask your doctor or physiotherapist.
AYour sleeping position
-
Side sleeper
Your shoulder and hip need to sink in a little so your back stays straight. Soft to medium usually feels best.
Guideline: soft to medium
-
Back sleeper
Your lower back needs support so your back keeps its natural shape. Medium is often the best choice.
Guideline: around medium
-
Stomach sleeper
Your hips mustn’t sink in too deeply, or your back will arch. Go for medium to firm.
Guideline: medium to firm
A guideline, not a rule: your weight and your own preference count too.
BYour weight and your feel
The heavier you are, the deeper you sink in. A mattress then feels softer, so you’re better off choosing a touch firmer. If you’re light, the same mattress feels firmer instead.
Do the two of you sleep very differently? Ask Sadik what’s possible. In the end, your own preference decides: that’s why trying it out is so important.

DTrying it out: how to do it
- Lie in your usual sleeping position, not just on your back.
- Take your time: a few minutes lying down tells you more than a quick sit.
- Turn over: that’s how you feel how easily you move.
- Do you share a bed? Come in together, so you both get a say.
03Guide
A mattress for your
flat by the sea.
Sea air is salty and damp, and a second home sometimes stands empty for weeks. With these six habits, your mattress stays fresh.
- 01
Air it out every day
Sea air is damp. Open the window for a while in the morning and fold back the duvet so your mattress can air out.
- 02
Let air under your mattress
Don’t put your mattress straight on the floor. A slatted base or box spring lets air through from underneath too.
- 03
Choose a washable cover
Our standard-size mattresses have a zip-off double-cloth cover that simply goes in the washing machine at 40 °C.
- 04
Use a mattress protector
A protector keeps out moisture and stains and is easier to wash than a mattress. Handy in a second home or a rental flat.
- 05
After standing empty
Has your flat stood empty for weeks? When you arrive, air the room first and leave the bed open for a while before you make it.
- 06
Sand doesn’t belong in bed
Vacuum your mattress now and then and wash the protector and sheets regularly, especially after a summer of beach trips.

04Frequently asked questions
Good to
know.
Can’t find your question? Send a WhatsApp or call: Sadik is happy to help.
Question 01How do I measure my mattress?
Measure the base the mattress will lie on, not your old mattress. Note everything in centimetres: A is the width at the widest point, B the length from head end to foot end. For a bevelled corner, also measure C: how far the corner is bevelled along the edge.
Question 02Do you come and measure in my campervan or boat?
Yes. We come and measure for free in your campervan, caravan or boat. That way your new mattress fits perfectly, right into every corner.
Question 03Do you take my old mattress away?
Yes, when we deliver we take your old mattress away for free.
Question 04Do you also deliver to my town?
Yes, we deliver to your door throughout Belgium. Along the whole coast, from De Panne to Knokke-Heist, and in nearby towns such as Veurne, Diksmuide, Gistel and Bruges, delivery costs €25. In the rest of Belgium €40. Assembly on delivery is free.
Question 05Can I come and try it out first?
Of course. In our showroom at Rietstraat 8 in Middelkerke you can try it out for yourself and get personal advice from Sadik.
Question 06Which firmness should I choose?
That depends on your sleeping position, your weight and your own preference. Side sleepers often go softer, front sleepers firmer. The guideline on this page points you in the right direction, but trying it out in the showroom is what really counts.
Question 07When is it time for a new mattress?
There’s no fixed lifespan. The signs: you wake up stiff, you can see a dip or feel the springs, or you sleep better in another bed.
Question 08Can I get a mattress in a non-standard size or shape?
Yes. We make mattresses to measure: rectangular in any size, with one or two bevelled corners, with a rounded end, round or in the shape of your boat.
Question 09How quickly will my mattress be delivered?
Mattresses are delivered within 1 week, even when made to measure. For a box spring bed, allow 3 weeks. We agree the delivery day with you personally.
Prefer to talk it through first?
Sadik helps you personally, in the showroom, on the phone or via WhatsApp.
