02What data do we process?
We only process data you give us yourself, when you place an order in the online shop, request a quote or an appointment (for example via the configurator, for a box spring bed, to try a mattress or for a measuring appointment) or ask us a question via a form, email, phone or WhatsApp. This includes:
- your name and contact details (email address, phone number);
- your address, postcode and town, if we need to deliver or come and measure;
- the details of your order or configuration (model, dimensions, shape, options) and your message;
- photos or drawings you upload yourself, for example of your bed or bed;
- for an online payment: the status of your payment. You enter your payment details with Mollie, not with us.
To prevent misuse of the forms, we store an irreversible code (hash) of your IP address with each request, not the IP address itself. As with any website, our hosting partner may keep technical log files (such as IP address and time) to keep the website running securely.
03What for and on what basis?
| Purpose | Legal basis (GDPR) |
|---|---|
| Fulfilling your order: delivery, assembly, payment and after-sales service | Performance of the contract (Art. 6.1.b) |
| Preparing and following up your quote or appointment | Steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) |
| Answering your question | Legitimate interest: helping you (Art. 6.1.f) |
| Keeping invoices and accounts | Legal obligation (Art. 6.1.c) |
| Preventing misuse of the website and forms | Legitimate interest: security (Art. 6.1.f) |
We don’t use your data for advertising, don’t send you a newsletter and don’t sell it on.
04How long do we keep your data?
- Orders and invoices: 7 years, as accounting law requires.
- Requests (quote, appointment or contact, including any photos you sent): up to 2 years, unless they lead to an order. The order’s retention periods then apply.
- The hashed IP address is stored and deleted together with your request.
05Who do we share your data with?
Only with parties we need in order to help you:
- Hostinger (EU): hosting of the website, the forms and the database;
- Mollie (Mollie B.V., the Netherlands): processing of online payments. When you pay, Mollie’s privacy policy also applies;
- WhatsApp: only if you contact us via WhatsApp yourself. WhatsApp’s privacy policy applies to that;
- public authorities: only if the law requires us to.
The data from our website and forms is stored within the European Union.
06Cookies and local storage
This website uses no tracking, analytics or advertising cookies and loads no third-party scripts: no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no embedded maps. The fonts are hosted on our own server.
We only use your own browser’s storage:
so-cart(localStorage): your basket, so your choice is kept until you check out;so-co(sessionStorage): what you filled in at checkout, only in that tab, so you don’t have to retype anything if a payment fails. It disappears when you close the tab or your order has been placed;so-shop(localStorage): a test setting that lets us test the online shop.
That data stays on your own device and is only sent to us when you place an order yourself. You can delete it in your browser settings. Only in our own admin area does the website use a strictly necessary session cookie for logging in. If you click a link to Google Maps, Google reviews or WhatsApp, you leave our website and that service’s rules apply.
07Your rights
You always have the right to:
- access: finding out what data we hold about you;
- rectification: having incorrect data corrected;
- erasure: having your data deleted, except what we’re legally required to keep (such as invoices);
- restriction: having the use of your data temporarily restricted;
- objection: objecting to processing based on our legitimate interests;
- portability: receiving your data in a common format.
Send your request to contact@sleepoutletmiddelkerke.be. We will reply within one month. To protect your data, we may ask you to confirm who you are.
08A complaint?
Not happy with how we handle your data? Tell us first and we’ll look for a solution together. You can also always lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Authority, Drukpersstraat 35, 1000 Brussels, contact@apd-gba.be, www.dataprotectionauthority.be.
09Security
The website runs over a secure connection (https). Orders and requests are only accessible with a password, and photos you upload are not publicly visible on the website.
10Changes
We update this policy if the way we work changes. Last updated: 13 October 2026.
